  5. ScaryFish III is a fishing simulation game for 1-4 players.
  6. Realistic simulation of all aspects of fishing including exploring
  7. diverse areas filled with fishing holes, tackle selection, casting,
  8. fighting fish, humorous mishaps, and more.  Dozens of fish (and a few
  9. non-fish!) species.  Over 250 bait/lure rigs, many rods, reels, line
  10. strengths, and miscellaneous items.  Has "relaxing" (1 player) mode and
  11. tournament (1-4 player) mode.  Extensive records.  Game has a 
  12. customizable fish "screensaver".

  14. Evaluation version has fully-functional access to 3 of the game's
  15. "worlds" containing over half of the game's 64 base species.  To
  16. reduce distribution file size, some evaluation world scenery graphics
  17. are not included; i.e. their full version equivalents have more
  18. scenery graphics.  Most items are available in the evaluation version
  19. but new characters start with only a small percentage of items.  The
  20. items not available at any evaluation version stores aren't needed to
  21. enjoy the game.

  26. This is a freely-distributable trial version.  Ordering information
  27. for the full version is available in ORDER.TXT and CRORDER.TXT.

  31. number of uses.

  47. - Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT.

  49. System Recommendations:
  50. - 16-bit or better color.  Game will run in 8-bit (256 color) mode
  51. but the game's graphic images won't look as good, and 256-color
  52. palettes won't look as good when switching between programs.
  53. - A mouse is recommended for quicker option selection in menus and
  54. window controls.
  55. - A sound card is recommended for digital sound effects.

  57. Installation:
  58. Run the file SETUP.EXE.  The setup program will let you choose a
  59. directory to install the game, view this readme file, etc.

  61. Running the game:
  62. Filename is SCARY3.EXE in the directory where you installed the
  63. game.  Run as you would any executable.  The install program has an
  64. option to create a Start->Programs entry; the default program files
  65. group is "ScaryFish III".

  67. Uninstalling the game:
  68. Setup program creates an uninstall .exe file to remove all files
  69. the game put on your machine.  Uninstall also removes the game's
  70. directory if no other files exist there.

  86. Quick Help for New Players in S3HELP gives suggested instructions for
  87. 1st-timers.  Quick Help suggests making your first trip to City Park
  88. Lake, but people such as reviewers who only have time for 1 or 2
  89. sessions should go to Medium-Sized River or Local Bass Lakes instead.

  92. - The Preferences property page has a superfluous Help button that does
  93. nothing.
